The Warm Nights shelter program is a 50-bed hypothermia shelter that operates from October through mid-April. It is a partnership of Community Crisis Services, Inc., the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services and over 40 area congregations. Warm Nights guests are provided transportation, consistent shelter, meals, case management, emotional support and additional programs and services.
Shelter needs don’t begin in October and end in April – CCSI is working to make this shelter year-round. We have expanded the current calendar from about 24 weeks to 39 weeks in 2016. We need your help!
Different ways to help include:
- Your congregation volunteering to host a week of the shelter
- You can volunteer to work at the shelter for a night or two
- You can donated needed items like towels, wash cloths, sheets, pillows, etc.
- Make a cash donation to help those in need – $40 provides a family of four with shelter for one night plus 3 meals.
